Floaty school Makoko, Lagos, Nigeria

Floaty school is one of the parts of the United Nations Organization, that is oriented on the improvement of life quality in poor geographic area. “Floaty” concept was selected with aim to control unpredictable climate changes and global sea level increase. School is just a small part of big range of floating constructions, that are planning to be assembled as an integral district.
Wood is used as main material for the construction, support and finish work ща the complete school. The general composition of the construction represents triangle A-curves frame. The class-rooms are located at the second floor. They are partly closed with adjusting slats. There is green space all around, below is situated children`s playground and there is an additional class-room on the roof, in the open air. The whole construction is held in place by dozens of hollow plastic barrels. Also, there is natural ventilation and aeration here.
«Reflection Pavilion», Zurich, Switzerland

A thirty-men team of students-architects from Studio Tom Emerson in ETH Zurich projected and constructed pavilion for Manifesta 11, the European Nomadic Biennial of the modern art. «Reflection pavilion», floating in the pond in the center of the city serves as social platform for Biennial. The meeting place, open-air theatre for films made as part of biennial, that also glass in public bathing-place, opened for everyone.
Floating loading stage

Christo and Jeanne-Claude, lake Iseo, Italy The floating path, intended by Christo Yavashev and Jeanne-Claude Denat de Guillebon, was mounted on the lake Iseo, in the north Italy. The installation «Floating loading stage», that permits walking on the water face, is made from plastic cubes, covered with yellow fabric. This path with the total extension of 5,5 km, connected 3 objects: Sulzano village, Monte-Isola island and San-Paolo island. The project was designed as temporary installation and after 3 weeks was disassembled. The component parts were recycled.
The Floating Kayak Club, Denmark

The watersports center Floating Kayak Club is situated in water, separated from the bank. This position the building as sculpture object and focus on kayaking, as an open water sport. When the building is floating, the link between it and water is so close, that visitors receive total experience of training in true environment.
The complex buildings give a wide range of leisure time opportunities. Cookhouse, place for barbeque, sun decks and grounds for «land» sports. The upper and lower decks are connected to one another with ramps, passages and scales in continuous motion, that permits make link.
